There is a discounted block of rooms booked at the Hyatt Regency Austin (208 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704). Each guest must reserve their own room in the block at the Hyatt at the following link: https://www.hyatt.com/events/en-US/group-booking/AUSRA/G-BEDC. Guests are responsible for the cost of their rooms. There is not a requirement to stay at the Hyatt. You are welcome to make your own arrangements.
Those volunteering to distribute gifts and legislative issues should wear something comfortable. There is a lot of walking involved.
There will be a little of everything, but business casual is perfect.
There will be some dressed up in business attire and many in their Brazoria County Day T-shirts. Everyone is asked to wear their T-shirts to the capitol immediately following breakfast, so the T-shirts are welcome at the breakfast.
Please wear your Brazoria County Day T-shirt to the capitol. It is quite impressive when the Brazoria County Delegation is recognized and there is a wave of Brazoria County Day T-shirts in the gallery. Jeans are fine, or whatever you are comfortable in. Comfortable shoes are suggested.

Due to metal detectors and screening, we suggest you allow extra time for entering the capitol building. The process is faster if you do not carry a handbag.
Yes, there is a separate line, to the left of the main entrance line, where you can have your handgun license scanned and enter without waiting for the metal detectors.
No, food and beverages are not allowed in the capitol building. You can have a picnic on the capitol grounds, but you cannot bring food items into the building.
No food, beverages, weapons, metal/wood objects longer than 12”, or large signs. You can find a complete list of restrictions on the Texas State Capitol Website.
There is no fee to attend any of the Brazoria County Day events. All events are underwritten so that residents can participate without cost.

This is a brief meeting where volunteers can pick up gift bags to be delivered to our legislators and agencies. Maps and directions are included. Just show up to volunteer.
The Monday evening reception is a good place for networking. Hors d’oeuvres are provided. There is a cash bar.
This is a seated, plated breakfast. The first 300 people will be seated. We will hear from our State elected Representatives and Senators that represent Brazoria County.
This is very casual networking event. There will be no speeches. In addition to Brazoria County residents, legislators, capitol staffers, agencies, and committees are invited.
Food will be provided at the Continental Breakfast on Monday. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided at the Monday evening Reception. A full, plated breakfast will be provided at the Legislative Breakfast on Tuesday. The Shrimp Cocktail on Tuesday evening will provide boiled shrimp, our famous red sauce, crackers, soft drinks, water, and beer.
You are welcome to bring your own food into the pavilion. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the pavilion.
There will be 300 goodie bags prepared for the first 300 attendees that check in at the Registration Room at the Hyatt Regency Austin. The bags are for residents of Brazoria County and those that do business in Brazoria County.
The Goodie Bags are a great opportunity for promoting businesses and organizations. Promotional items will be collected up until the week prior to the event.
Headquarters aka Hospitality Suite will be open except when scheduled events are taking place. CenterPoint Energy is hosting the suite. They will be providing beverages and light snacks. This is a great place for networking.

For guests reserved in the discounted block of overnight rooms, the discounted self-parking rate is $30 per night. For those not in the discounted block of rooms, the self-parking rate is $62 per night.
There are parking meters near the capitol building. There is also a public parking garage on the east side of the capital (1201 San Jacinto Blvd. between 12th and 13th Streets). Parking in the Capitol Visitors Parking Garage is free for the first two hours and then $1 per half hour thereafter, with a maximum daily charge of $12. No overnight parking is allowed.

There is no registration required. Residents of Brazoria County and those that do business in Brazoria County are invited to attend.
No, you do not need to register. Just show up. There will be plenty of space at the Continental Breakfast, Reception and Shrimp Cocktail. The only event with limited seating is the Legislative Breakfast on Tuesday morning. The first 300 people who show up will have seating. We have not had to turn anyone away yet.
The Registration Room at the Hyatt is for attendees of Brazoria County Day to pick up their T-shirts and goodie bags. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to stop by the Registration Room.
Registration opens at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday. The room will be available each day, closing when scheduled events are taking place.
The only meetings scheduled are those that are requested. If you have a specific agency that you would like to meet with, you must submit your request [including name(s), affiliation(s), and topic(s) of discussion]. You can submit your request to info@eda-bc.com. All meetings are requested through Brazoria County Day to show a unified front to our legislators and agencies.

No. We ensure that the topics are good for Brazoria County. If a request comes in for an agency meeting, we will recruit representatives from other parts of the county to participate in the meeting. They will submit their own topics.

There will be limited transportation provided by Brazosport College vans. You can also take an uber or drive your own vehicle.
Yes. Transportation will be provided by the Brazosport College vans this year. The vans will make several trips to Branch Park Pavilion, starting at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday. The vans will continue to run until guests are returned to the hotel. You can also take an Uber. Parking is limited at Branch Park Pavilion.
Yes. Brazosport College vans will provide transportation between the Capitol and Branch Park Pavilion for the Legislators and their staffs. The vans will run until all guests are returned to the Capitol.
